Forever Friends...

Can you believe we are at the end of summer and school is already here again?! I feel like each season seems to get shorter and shorter...or am I just getting older and older... it flies by so quickly!

Thank you to everyone who left the sweet comments on my Fresh and Vintage chairs...they really do make me smile every time I see them.

Many other projects have been going on here, but I have definitely lacked in the blogging department.  I will be catching you all up soon and share what else has gotten done.

We didn't do a whole lot of traveling this summer due to Mr. Wonderful's busy schedule at work and that every.penny is going into our home...at least it isn't on credit so we don't have that worry

Our family has enjoyed the fact that we didn't have a busy summer...it felt good to have many lazy days.  A much needed break after a long last year of "chaos".

I think I can finally say, I feel a little more ready for this coming school year and seeing our lives get back in order.  Still lots more to finish, but the main hub of the house is coming along and I can deal with all the other rooms one.at.a.time.

The only place I did travel this summer wasn't that far, but was a great time...a girls weekend away with just my daughter and her best friend.

The Drama Queen and I were able to get away for the weekend and travel back to NM where we used to live.  Drama Queen's best friend Miss A was waiting excitedly for us to pick her up and come back to stay with our family for a week.

The two of them have been BFF since 6th grade and have missed each other very much. The first night at the hotel was non-stop talking and looking through year books...catching up on all the latest.  It reminded me of being young and staying up all night with my friends at sleep overs.

On our way back home the next day we made a little detour into Santa Fe for some very yummy Southwestern cuisine...and of course I had to have some green chilies!

We went to the heart of Santa Fe, the downtown.  I decided we would stop and get some photos of the girls by the train station before we had some lunch.  I however, didn't think about how bright the sun would be on my photos...still learning in my photography with Izzy.

We did have a great time, food and fun taking some pictures.

As I was driving home and now was the chauffeur to these two giggling, singing, texting, boy watching and talkative girls in the backseat...I couldn't help but think back on many of my best friends over the years who I missed getting to spend time like this with...you know the ones, our Forever Friends...

Drama Queen and Miss A
The friends we love to hang out with...

The ones that just "get" us...
