I have finished my stained glass piece for my window, although it is now leaning against the window instead of hanging at this point. The window it will hang in still needs to be framed inside and outside, like I did in the kitchen. This will give all the builder grade windows architectural detail.
I am so happy with how it turned out! It looks beautiful with the light shining through it. I kept it more traditional in pattern like a leaded glass window with a border of turquoise and pops of red around it. Just enough color to pull up to the top of the room without making the pattern too busy. I think it will look so amazing once we have the windows framed and curtain treatments up...eventually.
I wasn't able to capture the best pictures of it being that it's leaning and not hanging yet. I will get better ones once it is completely installed. For now I thought I would share. I will be working on another post over the weekend to show you all the tutorial and how you can make one yourself with a frame.
Here it is...
Stained the frame...
This is the window it will hang in...
A closer look...
I wanted to try and give you a look at where we
started in this room a year ago and the top window this piece will be in.
This is the kitchen window I framed...
Once the room is all finished I will show it all together.
I can say one more project out of my head and done...that feels good!
I have already started on another one...
Reupholstering this sofa I bought on Craigslist for $50 last year!
I am hoping to create something like this...
Have a great weekend!!

ReplyDeleteVictoria,
ReplyDeleteIt’s been fun and interesting watching your home’s transformation. I’m so jealous of that fabulous loveseat you scooped up for a mire $50. I saw one on my Craig’s list, but it was $300. I was tempted but let it pass. I love the lines on yours. The new stained glass window looks great!
